Powerless 03:28
Well it's so obvious that we're afraid We feel abandoned here Lost and ashamed Another powerless power grab taking over Another term to amputate Watch for the eyes of the wicked and the thorn in your side A finger on the trigger will rock you to sleep at night Watch for the eyes of the wicked and the thorn in your side Fall asleep with the TV on and pretend that it's all in your mind A sugar coated lie, a bitter tongue A living ladder climb the bottom rung Another powerless populace living under Another term we'll have to wait Watch for the eyes of the wicked and the thorn in your side A finger on the trigger will rock you to sleep at night Watch for the eyes of the wicked and the thorn in your side Fall asleep with the TV on and pretend that it's all in your mind Because it's all in your mind It was all in your mind.

My momma told me don't play ball in the house So we played ball in the house 'cause we weren't allowed My momma told me don't play ball in the house So we played ball in the house 'cause we weren't allowed I used a metaphor to catch your attention for what amounts to ten seconds of your life I'm not preaching, not trying to over reach I'm just trying to understand if there's some common ground Here in the great unknown (is it unknown, woah is it unknown) We still have a ways to go. (is it unknown, I'm still searching for a home) We're all in the great unknown (is it unknown, woah is it unknown) I'm standing up and I'm singing (is it unknown, I'm still searching for a home) Yelling fire in crowded room We're in a crowded room but the flames are on mute Yelling fire in crowded room We're in a crowded room but the flames are on mute I'm getting ready for a crucial calm before The storm rages and washes us all out You feel it burning, I hope that we're all yearning To run for some cover as the hail pounds down Here in the great unknown (is it unknown, woah is it unknown) We still have a ways to go. (is it unknown, I'm still searching for a home) We're all in the great unknown (is it unknown, woah is it unknown) I'm standing up and I'm singing (is it unknown, I'm still searching for a home) My momma told me don't play ball in the house So we played ball in the house 'cause we weren't allowed My momma told me don't play ball in the house So we played ball in the house 'cause we weren't allowed I'm getting ready for a crucial calm before The storm rages and washes us all out You feel it burning, I hope that we're all yearning To run for some cover as the hail pounds down Still have a ways to go (is it unknown, woah is it unknown) Here in the great unknown (is it unknown, I'm still searching for a home) We still have a ways to go (is it unknown, woah is it unknown) I'm standing up and I'm shouting out (is it unknown, I'm still searching for a home)

Howl 04:29
Still waiting for the punchline to this comedy Lines and metaphor disguise another tragedy Time is a mile on a road without a sign Gas on the right, grip the corners tight, and we Howl another sign of life Directly in the eye of the moon Live another lonely night Waiting for the light to break through Still asking for a blanket and a spot of tea Are we better off counting rings inside of trees Time is a child living off a midwife's milk Sharp when it cuts, clinging soft as silk, and we Howl another sign of life Directly in the eye of the moon Live another lonely night Waiting for the light to break through Are we better off? Time is a mile on a road without a sign Howl another sign of life Directly in the eye of the moon Live another lonely night Waiting for the light to break through

Cloud City 07:17
Come out of the blind where I always hide With a look in my eye It's hard to take the time to ease a worried mind When the world outside Becomes the world inside Are we alone in the universe or just alone in our head? So i'm back in the blind where I always hide Looking you right in the eye It's hard to take the time to heal a troubled mind Because the world outside Became the world inside Are we alone in the universe or just alone in our head? Then my eyes turned red It was in my head When my eyes turned red In the sky I slept And my eyes turned red It was in my head Let my eyes turn red Are we alone in the universe or just alone in our head? Are we alone?

Skyline 02:33
How can you sleep at night with all your dignity intact? When you turn off the light what can you feel through your cold sweat? Is someone looking through my back door smiling? Is anybody in my mirror listening? (I know its me" Is someone looking through my back door smiling? Is anybody in the mirror listening again and again? Two wrongs won't make us right Your left is equally dismissive How can we live a life? The big reveal, we don't need your permission Is someone looking through my back door smiling? Is anybody in my mirror listening? (I know its me" Is someone looking through my back door smiling? Is anybody in the mirror listening again and again?

Who kills the spiders in the laundry rooms of buildings? Who tends to buffalo in Eastern Central Michigan? My insecurities will further my advances Who protests peace when all you have to do is... You know this 'cause you felt the air between us thicken What I'm missing Bigger picture Are we drifters? Rusted fixtures Are we on our own? I'll mortgage monsters with a simple satisfaction I'll posit inference if I just find the time You know this 'cause you felt the air between us thicken What I'm missing Bigger picture Are we drifters? Rusted fixtures Are we on our own?

about

Here we are again. Can’t say I’m completely surprised, then again, after 2020 nothing is really all that surprising. We had a plan. Just like last time. Record the album, press the album tour the album, learn the songs on that album in the only true fashion, heavy, sweaty repetition on stage in front of real live humans. Then everything shut down. What do we do now?
We’d worked too hard, spent too much time, energy and cash to release Mood Swings to the world as digital files in the worst year any of us can remember. Then we started thinking. We cant go anywhere, we cant do anything… except play.

So we did.

We got a new rehearsal space, came in with ideas and enjoyed each others company as friends, as family, as a band. Before we knew it time rewound and we were right back in the spirit we had all those years ago, when we used to have to move the coffee table in the Sullivan living room to get our reps in.
6 songs. Once again some new, some left over, all released into the wild without second guessing. I’m proud of what we’ve done. I’m proud of where we are and most of all I’m excited for the future.
Because the future is still right there in front of all of us. Once again we make the same promise, this EP isn’t a period, it’s a comma. We will release our 3rd album, we will pack our gear into a van and drive and we will hit the stage where we belong. For now, lets all enjoy being Caved In together. - dan

Special thanks to Josh Salant for making us feel welome and
letting us be the goons we really are.

Rob - Big thanks go out to Tiff and my fam, Danny's fam, Sully's fam and the united AOS family. Id also like to thank Joshie Washie of Salant Studios and Mikey Delfino of the Dougie D. In a way thanks to our enforced togetherness for help sparking the fire that is this ep. Love you all, personal shout out to Big Bill you will be missed, cheers!

Sully would like to thank his fiance Edyta, his mother for always being the amazing woman she is, his sister Victoria, his entire family, the fine gentlemen of AOS, Alecks, The L Train Brass Band, Brooklyn Delta Jazz Party, Brass Queens and everyone I've ever played drums alongside. Y'all have gifted me with the confidence and experience to grow as a drummer and a human being. Shout out to the OG Baron boy for helping me through all the hard times and Raven girl for taking on the watch.

dan would like to send love to my family both blood and bond, there's a bear in my life who belongs here as well. And to anyone listening. you are the reason this exists!
